Thomas F. Johnson
Director of Operations
As Director of Operations Mr. Johnson oversees the franchise operations team including; franchise development, technology implementation, call center/ dispatching and field services for independent franchises.
Mr. Johnson is an executive management professional with over 30 years of retail operations experience in the home services business. He has been responsible for all facets of operations in the retail plumbing, heating/ air-conditioning and electrical businesses including franchise and company owned operations. Prior to joining 1-800-PLUMBER, Mr. Johnson held the position Franchise Operations Lead with Clockwork Home Services serving over 500 franchise operations nationally, and included such brands as Benjamin Franklin Plumbing, One Hour Air Conditioning, and Mr. Sparky electrical. Total company sales were in excess of $220 million in the franchise and company owned operations with Mr. Johnson leading the field service support team, franchise compliance team, and the growth and development team for franchisees.
Mr. Johnson’s home services leadership also included his role as Regional/ Division Manager for ServiceMaster/ ARS, a fortune 500 company with $4 billion in sales where he was responsible for acquisitions, restructuring, training, financial and accounting operations for the retail plumbing, heating/ air-conditioning, and electrical locations. In this post Mr. Johnson increased the division’s profitability by 16.6% leading all divisions within the company.
Other professional experience includes his executive role as Director of Plumbing Operations for Roto-Rooter Services Company in Cincinnati, Ohio with sales in excess of $200 million. Mr. Johnson was instrumental in assisting company operations to develop a primarily drain cleaning entity to a full service plumbing business. He was instrumental in the strategic development plan for Roto-Rooter to become a household name in retail plumbing services.
Mr. Johnson served as an officer in the United States Marine Corps and is a graduate of Lewis University in Joliet, Illinois where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering and management. Mr. Johnson has also held Contracting and Master Plumbing licenses in multiple states.
